Soft Hand Ink Additive

The Ultimate Vintage Look and Feel Soft Hand Ink Additive is a specialized blending agent mixed directly into our standard screen-printing inks. Traditional plastisol inks sit entirely on top of the fabric, which can leave a heavy, slightly rubbery texture—especially on larger designs. By incorporating this additive, we thin the ink and allow it to settle deeply into the garment's fibers. The result is a significantly softer, more breathable print that feels like a natural part of the shirt.

What to Expect:

Unmatched Comfort: The print feels remarkably smooth to the touch (known in the industry as a "soft hand" feel) and moves naturally with the fabric, eliminating the stiff, heavy "shield" effect on your chest.

A True Retro Aesthetic: The additive naturally creates a beautifully matte and slightly washed-out finish. It is the absolute best choice for retro graphics, faded logos, and creating that instantly loved, worn-in apparel vibe.

Enhanced Breathability: Because the ink layer is thinner and integrated with the fabric, it allows for much better airflow, making the garment significantly more comfortable to wear in warm weather or during physical activity.

Important Considerations Before You Order:

Subtle, Muted Colors: Because the ink blends into the fabric rather than sitting thickly on top of it, the final colors will intentionally appear slightly muted and less vibrant than standard glossy inks.

No Exact Pantone Matching: The way the additive interacts with the ink and the underlying fabric color slightly alters the final hue. Because of this, we cannot guarantee exact Pantone (PMS) color matching for this specific technique.

Fabric Interaction: The "faded" effect is heavily influenced by the color and blend of the garment itself. On darker shirts, more of the shirt's base color will subtly peek through the design, enhancing the distressed, vintage appearance.
