Puff Ink Additive

Add Dimension with a Raised, 3D Texture Puff ink is a specialty plastisol additive that literally brings your design to life. Mixed into our standard inks, this additive reacts to the heat of our curing ovens by expanding outward and upward. The result is a unique, raised 3D effect that sits proudly off the surface of the garment. It is an incredible way to add a tactile, premium element to your custom apparel that customers can actually feel.

What to Expect:

Tactile 3D Effect: The ink cures with a slightly spongy, raised texture that adds an engaging, physical dimension to your artwork.

Bold Visual Impact: Puff ink has a naturally matte finish and commands attention. It is perfect for making specific elements of a design "pop," creating vintage 80s/90s aesthetic styles, or elevating boutique streetwear brands.

A Heavier Hand-Feel: Because the ink expands to create volume, the printed area will feel thicker and heavier than a standard flat print.

Important Considerations Before You Order:

Not for Fine Details: As the ink expands during the heating process, it swells in all directions. Because of this, thin lines, intricate details, and small text will fill in and become illegible blobs. Puff ink requires thick lines, bold typography, and chunky, simplified shapes.

Garment Care: To maximize the lifespan of a puff print and prevent the raised texture from cracking, garments should be washed inside out in cold water and tumble-dried on low (or hang-dried). Never iron directly over a puff print, as it will melt and crush the 3D effect.

Color Shifts: The chemical expansion process can slightly alter the final shade of the ink, usually making it appear slightly lighter or more pastel than the standard flat version of the exact same color.
